We, Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales (CSSIW), Estyn (Her Majesty’s Inspectorate for Education and Training in Wales), Healthcare Inspectorate Wales (HIW), and the Wales Audit Office (WAO) are the four main inspection, audit and review bodies in Wales. Our work is about the citizens of Wales – those who use public services now, those who will need them in the future and those who want assurance that public services in Wales are safe and of good quality.

We are four independent, strong sectoral inspectorates with professional authority in our own fields. CSSIW, Estyn, HIW and WAO have made a strategic agreement between our organisations setting out the commitment to work closely together to encourage improvement in public services.
